What is coaching?

Let us start by saying what coaching isn’t.  It isn’t counseling, nor is it training or teaching. It is however, a way of helping you move through the different phases and transitions in your life so that you are fulfilling your needs and creating the life you want.

At different times in our lives, as human beings we transform from one phase into another.  The first time this happens is when we change from adolescence to adulthood. Then we may become parents and immerse ourselves in bringing up a family.  Eventually our kids leave home and we transform into another phase of our lives, where we learn how to let go and take up new challenges and opportunities. We then reach mid-life and another transformation takes place, where we start to slow down and we notice physical changes as well as emotional changes.

Along the journey of our lives we may also decide to change from being an employee to an employer, or we may be made redundant and have a host of opportunities and challenges opened to us.  Our journey eventually takes us into becoming elders, a time when we can embrace our achievements and pass on our knowledge.

However, through the course of our lives these changes can feel like a ‘bumpy ride’ and life can seem a little precarious and bewildering as we reinvent and transform ourselves yet again.  That’s when coaching can be a useful and empowering process, giving you the opportunity to explore the changes you are going through at greater depth, enabling you to find out what you want to happen and how you want to make it happen.  It is a practical process which can support you through the changes you are experiencing and move you forward into a more positive space.

We will work together, in complete confidentiality, either one to one or over the telephone, for an agreed time, on a programme individually designed for you and your circumstances. Your coaching sessions will be totally focused on you and I will always have your best interests at heart.

With coaching to support you, you can work through the changes you are experiencing in your personal or professional life and come out feeling stronger, more confident and with a real sense of purpose and wellbeing.

In our ability to rethink our lives lies our greatest power to change them.”
